The paper describes technical solutions worked out by the author and proposed for heavy loaded buildings located on weak subsoil or placed in seismic areas. Proposed combined structural system is shaped by taking into consideration basic rules of theory of structures and numerous diffcult require ments referring to these types of structures in particular regarding load-bearing structures of tall buildings. The way of arrangement of component parts and their mutual connections in space plays the most important role in this system. Due to its inner build the total vertical load can be spread on large horizontal base. Structural confguration of this system makes it capable of absorbing signifcant part of energy caused by various types of load and enables it to act as a kind of passive vibration damper. The proposed system can be ap plied for new buildings and for improving safety conditions for already existing objects in most cases of them.
